FORCE INDIA DELIGHT AT FIRST WIN

There were parties in the streets of India tonight as crowds gathered to witness Force India's maiden victory in Formula One. Indian petrolheads were tense as eventual winner Chris Louth pitted on lap 47 and gave himself the challenge of chasing Sauber's Perez with 9 laps remaining. Louth snuck past Perez on the exit of the final turn on lap 54 as the Mexican dipped a wheel into the gravel. The result sees Louth move to the top of the driver standings.

"I pitted on lap 35 with the intention of going to the end of the race on primes" Louth told the media. "The tyres lost grip quicker than we thought they would so it was all about building a bit of a gap to the car behind so it we could fit some soft tyres on and give ourselves a chace. Fortunately Perez's tyres started to give him trouble towards the end so thankfully the change in strategy was the right call. The win has been coming for a long time for this team, the car felt great all weekend."
