Renault Secure First Race Finish
After a tricky start to the season Phillip Coe, Renaults one and only driver for the season so far, secured a well deserved 5th place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix. After two difficult races, first crashing in Austrailia falling 40 seconds behind and being forced to retire under unusual circumstances and then facing another forced retirement in Malasyia, Phil was determind to just complete a whole race distance. Consistant lap times and an incident free race (for the Renault Team) not only saw a 100% completion of the race but a 5th place earning Phil and the team 10 points on the board bringing their total to 13. But as good as this result is for Renault only having one Driver must surely be hampering progress. When asked, Eric Boullier (Team Principal) had this to say: 'well er.. yes it has er.. been difficult with Roberts er.. injury before start of season to er.. find a skilled enough driver er.. to partner Phil. he has er.. been coping well on his own so far er.. but i do feel that er.. another driver will be er... needed to help us finish er.. highier in the constuctors'. Boullier also went on to say that: 'we do er... have a spare seat at the team and would er.. welcome any driver who er.. felt like they er...weren't happy where they are'. Could there still be hope for Renault yet?
